# Antla vs GenLook for Shopify Clothing Try-On (2026)

Antla vs GenLook for Shopify clothing try-on, checked 7 October 2026: free plan vs 7-day trial, dated prices, photo windows, and a five-SKU catalog test.

**Two Built for Shopify photo try-on apps let clothing shoppers upload one photo and see the garment on themselves. On 7 October 2026 GenLook publishes a free plan with 10 try-ons a month. [Antla](https://apps.shopify.com/antla) publishes a 7-day trial, then paid plans from $19.99/month. Decide with those listing facts and a test on your SKUs.**

Open both App Store pages and the products look interchangeable: a Try On control on the product page, existing catalog photos, no 3D garment file. That is why merchants get stuck. The useful split is not "which engine is magic." It is which invoice, which shopper flow, and which photo window you can actually quote.

Run the garments yourself at [https://antla.io/demo](https://antla.io/demo). Then install on a duplicate theme. Do not pick from a vendor's vs table.

## The $19.99 line hides the real invoice

Both paid ladders start at $19.99 a month for 100 try-ons. That is the only number most comparison pages keep. It is also the least useful one. Overages, mid-tiers, and included volume are what you pay once a dress collection actually gets used.

Figures below are from [antla.io/pricing](https://antla.io/pricing) and the [GenLook Shopify listing](https://apps.shopify.com/genlook-virtual-try-on), opened 7 October 2026. They change. Recheck the listing before you buy.

| | Antla | GenLook |

| Job on Shopify | AI photo try-on on the product page | AI photo try-on on the product page |
| Built for Shopify | Yes | Yes |
| Other storefronts (vendor site) | Shopify app | [Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, plus a Try-On API](https://genlook.app/) |
| Shopper input | One photo ("From a single photo") | One photo ("They upload one photo") |
| Free plan | None. 7-day free trial on every paid plan | Yes. 10 try-ons / month, no extra usage |
| $19.99 plan | Trend: 100 try-ons, then $0.16 | Starter: 100 try-ons, then $0.17 |
| Next paid step | Runway $49.99 / month for 500, then $0.12 | Growth $29 / month for 250, then $0.12 |
| Highest listed Shopify plan | Unlimited Fashion $199.99 / month for 2,000, then $0.09 | Pro $99 / month for 1,000 generations, then $0.10 |
| App Store rating (7 Oct 2026) | 5.0 from 61 reviews | 5.0 from 40 reviews |
| Size chart of its own | None. Works beside any Shopify size app | Listing does not ship one. GenLook's vs page says "AI Size chart coming soon" |
| Email | Pricing page lists Klaviyo. App Store lists "Klaviyo Integration Access" on Runway and Unlimited Fashion | Listing: "Lead capture: collect shopper emails during the try-on flow." Works with Klaviyo |
| Photo window (quoted) | "Images are deleted and not accessible within 72 hours." | "automatically deleted after the configured retention window, 7 days at most" |

Review counts are dated text, not a quality score. There is no Review or aggregateRating markup on Antla on this page.

I'd treat the free-plan vs trial split as the first filter, not the last. If you still do not know whether try-on belongs on the catalog, GenLook's 10 included renders let you poke a few SKUs at $0. If you already know you will keep a clothing preview next to add-to-cart, the 7-day trial is enough to judge Antla on your own photography.

## What 250 try-ons a month actually costs

Category cost bands live on [virtual try-on software cost](https://antla.io/blog/virtual-try-on-software-cost). Here is the pair in front of you, with the arithmetic labelled illustrative.

Stay on the $19.99 plans and burn 100 extra try-ons in a month: Antla Trend bills $16 in overage ($0.16 each); GenLook Starter bills $17 ($0.17 each). Tiny.

Need about 250 completed try-ons, which is a busy week of PDP traffic on a mid-size catalog:

- GenLook Growth: **$29** for 250 included.
- Antla Trend plus 150 overage: $19.99 + (150 × $0.16) = **$43.99**.
- Antla Runway: **$49.99** for 500 included.

If 100 to 250 try-ons is your real band, GenLook's $29 rung is denser. If you expect the widget to sit on every dress and top PDP, Runway's 500 included starts to look cheaper per render than living on overage.

Need about 2,000 try-ons:

- Antla Unlimited Fashion: **$199.99** for 2,000 included, then $0.09.
- GenLook Pro: **$99** for 1,000, then 1,000 extra at $0.10 = **$199**. Same neighborhood, different included bucket.

None of that is a render-quality score. It is the invoice you can check without a sales call.

Antla plans on 7 October 2026, from the pricing page:

- Every plan includes a 7-day free trial. There is no free plan.
- **Trend, $19.99/month:** 100 try-ons, then $0.16. Klaviyo is listed on the pricing page. The App Store Trend feature list says "Full Sharing Customization" and does not name Klaviyo.
- **Runway, $49.99/month:** 500 try-ons, then $0.12. Full customization, priority support, custom events, Klaviyo.
- **Unlimited Fashion, $199.99/month:** 2,000 try-ons, then $0.09. Priority generation, dedicated support, customer success manager, dedicated server.

GenLook's Shopify listing on the same day:

- **Free:** 10 monthly try-ons, customizable widget.
- **Starter, $19.99/month:** 100 try-ons, then $0.17. Analytics dashboard, customer email collection, standard support.
- **Growth, $29/month:** 250 try-ons, then $0.12. Advanced analytics, email collection, standard support.
- **Pro, $99/month:** 1,000 generations, then $0.10. Advanced analytics, email collection, "Remove genlook branding," VIP support.

If you also run WooCommerce or PrestaShop, that is a GenLook lane. Antla's public product is the Shopify app.

## Look, size, and email are three different jobs

Most teams get this wrong when they shop "fit apps" as one category. A size widget answers which label to order. A photo try-on answers how the garment looks on that body. An email capture answers whether you can follow up. Mixing those jobs in one cell is how vs pages invent a size chart Antla does not ship.

**Antla has no size chart or size recommendation of its own. It works alongside any Shopify size app.** The listing copy is explicit: "Antla doesn't replace your size chart, it levels it up by styling them." Shopify also tags the listing under Comparison tools → Size charts. That is "works with the tools you already have," not "Antla is a size app." Put a chart next to the selector, then put try-on next to the gallery. The split is in [AI size recommendation vs virtual try-on](https://antla.io/blog/ai-size-recommendation-vs-virtual-try-on).

That split matters because clothing returns are a visualization problem as well as a label problem. [Shopify's 2026 ecommerce returns guide](https://www.shopify.com/enterprise/blog/ecommerce-returns) cites the NRF and Happy Returns 2025 landscape: an estimated **19.3% of online sales** were returned that year, against **15.8%** for retail overall. Apparel and footwear sit above the online average because fit is hard to judge on a screen. Shopify names bracketing (buy two sizes, keep one) as the fitting room shipped at your expense.

[Shopify's virtual fitting rooms guide](https://www.shopify.com/enterprise/blog/virtual-fitting-rooms) puts the commercial job as reducing uncertainty about fit and style before add-to-cart. Photo try-on is the clothing version of that idea. It does not prove the waistband will sit where your chart promised.

[Baymard's apparel UX research](https://baymard.com/research/apparel-and-accessories) is the reason a studio model shot is not enough on its own: shoppers still need help conveying fit and feel. A try-on on their photo is one more layer, not a replacement for measurements, fabric notes, or honest length copy.

Email is the third job. GenLook's listing builds lead capture into the try-on: "collect shopper emails during the try-on flow." Starter and above list "Customers Email Collection." Antla's public plans emphasize Klaviyo on Runway and Unlimited Fashion. They do not document an equivalent in-widget email prompt on the listing we opened. If the buying reason is "get the email before she leaves the PDP," GenLook publishes that feature in plain language. If the buying reason is "sync try-on into the ESP you already run," both list Klaviyo; Antla's App Store access line starts at Runway.

Conversion is a fourth number, and it is not a vs-table cell. [Shopify's 2026 conversion-rate guide](https://www.shopify.com/blog/ecommerce-conversion-rate) (updated 22 August 2026) cites Statista: **1.4% of global ecommerce visits** converted into purchases in Q1 2026. In the same article, fashion, accessories, and apparel sat at **2.77%** in the June industry table. Those are store-wide, category-wide benchmarks. They are not Antla vs GenLook scores.

The first-party figure we will quote is narrower. Across more than 500,000 Antla try-ons, shoppers who completed a preview convert at **3.8%**. That is a try-on-user cohort rate, not store-wide conversion, and it does not claim to beat the best Shopify Plus stores. Method and caveats are on [Shopify virtual try-on conversion](https://antla.io/blog/shopify-virtual-try-on-conversion). GenLook's listing does not publish a comparable cohort number we can cite here, so we do not invent one.

## Quote the photo window. Do not flatten it.

Legal and ops teams will ask what happens to the shopper's face photo. Quote the vendor. Do not write "never stored."

Antla's [privacy policy](https://antla.io/privacy-policy): "Images are deleted and not accessible within 72 hours."

GenLook's [privacy policy](https://genlook.app/privacy) (effective 29 September 2026): "Uploaded photos and generated images (all channels): automatically deleted after the configured retention window, 7 days at most (1 or 3 days where configured). Unprocessed originals are deleted within 1 day."

That is 72 hours versus up to 7 days. Shorter is not automatically "more private" if you need the merchant try-on feed for merchandising; longer is not a scandal if the policy says it. Put the sentence in your store's privacy page either way.

This page does not claim Antla photos are never stored, or that they are not used for training. Those lines are not in Antla's live policy. Antla is not SOC 2 or ISO certified.

## Score five SKUs, not a screenshot gallery

I would not pay either invoice from a homepage reel. Duplicate the live theme, install the second app, and score the same garments on the same shopper photos. Install order for Antla is in [how to add virtual try-on to Shopify](https://antla.io/blog/add-virtual-try-on-shopify). Theme app blocks belong next to the gallery and add-to-cart; sticky mobile bars are the usual fight, covered in [Shopify theme compatibility](https://antla.io/blog/shopify-theme-virtual-try-on-compatibility).

Use a set that actually breaks previews:

1. A print dress (pattern fidelity, hem length).
2. A structured blazer or shirt (shoulder, lapel, collar).
3. Wide-leg or high-rise trousers (rise, drape while standing).
4. A knit or stretch top (cling versus ease).
5. One "ugly" SKU: sheer, sequin, or high-contrast color.

Score color, pattern, drape, length, and whether the garment still looks like *your* product. Do not score "fit." A preview that makes a midi look like a mini is a fail even if the face is perfect.

Check the shopper path you actually want:

- Does the result sit next to add-to-cart, or does it wander into a share sheet first?
- Can she try a second color without re-uploading?
- Does mobile keep the variant picker usable under a sticky cart bar?

Antla's listing talks about shares and "Automatic discounts: Drive sales for shoppers who try on outfits." "Full Sharing Customization" is on Trend; "Unlimited Shares" is on Unlimited Fashion. Sharing exists. It is not the whole product. GenLook's listing also lets shoppers share the result, and it puts add-to-cart and email capture in the same breath. Read those bullets as published promises, then watch what the widget actually does on your theme.

Analytics follow the same rule. Antla's listing: "Track your top-performing styles, try-ons, & shares." GenLook's listing: "try-on funnel and try-on-attributed sales in one dashboard." Those are different sentences. Compare dashboards on the duplicate, not adjectives.

When you pick a winner, uninstall the leftover app so its scripts stop loading. You do not recode the theme. You swap embeds.

Product photography still has to be front-facing. Chest logos, zippers, and collars need to be visible on the reference image or the try-on will invent a back view. That requirement is the same for both apps.

## What I would actually pick

**Start with GenLook** if you need a $0 install, in-widget email capture stated on the listing, a published "14+ storefront languages" line, a $29 mid-tier, or you already sell on WooCommerce or PrestaShop. Those are listing facts as of 7 October 2026. [GenLook's vs page](https://genlook.app/shopify/vs/antla) also claims "50+ languages, auto-detected." That is not the same number as the listing body. Quote the listing for storefront languages.

**Start with Antla** if you want a Shopify-only clothing try-on with a 7-day trial, the 72-hour deletion line, Trend overage at $0.16, and a published 2,000-try-on tier. Judge render quality on your catalog at the demo, then on the duplicate theme. The feature overview is [virtual try-on for Shopify](https://antla.io/features/virtual-try-on).

Antla's App Store **Languages** field is English. That field is not a confirmed widget-language list, so this page does not call the widget English-only.

Neither app replaces a size chart. Neither preview is a tape measure. If "looked different" returns are the leak, try-on is the layer. If "too small / too big" dominates, fix the chart first. Measure try-on users against non-users for 60 to 90 days. The returns evidence stack, without invented Antla deltas, is in [does virtual try-on reduce returns?](https://antla.io/blog/does-virtual-try-on-reduce-returns).

## Merchant questions

### Can I run both apps on one Shopify theme?

You can install both. Do not leave both embeds on the live product template. Duplicate the theme, enable one app's product-page control, and turn the other off on that copy. Shoppers should see one Try On path. After you pick, uninstall the leftover app.

### Does either app tell the shopper which size to buy?

No. Photo try-on shows how the garment looks on the uploaded photo. It does not recommend a size label. Antla has no size chart or size recommendation of its own. GenLook's Shopify listing does not ship a size chart either.

### How should I score a side-by-side test?

Use the same five SKUs and the same shopper photos on both widgets. Score color, pattern, drape, and length. Ignore "fit." Watch mobile, variant changes, and whether the result points at add-to-cart. Time-to-first-preview is worth a note; it is not the only note.

### Where do shopper photos go after a try-on?

Quote the policies. Antla: "Images are deleted and not accessible within 72 hours." GenLook: uploaded photos and generated images are deleted after a configured window, 7 days at most.

If the demo renders hold on your photography, install from the listing and give it a week on a duplicate theme. Keep the size app you already run. Try-on is the look layer, not a replacement tape measure.
