GenLook Alternatives for Shopify Virtual Try-On (2026): An Honest Comparison, Including Antla

Shopify clothing alternatives to GenLook are other photo try-on apps. Antla is a Built for Shopify option with a 7-day trial, then plans from $19.99/month. GenLook publishes a free plan. Compare dated App Store listings and test the same garments; ignore third-party pages that still quote stale prices.

See a clothing preview at Antla.io/demo. The 1:1 pair is on Antla vs GenLook. This page is the wider alternatives table.

Most “GenLook alternatives” pages are already out of date

I would not pick a try-on app from a roundup that still prices GenLook from $14.99/month. Corlen’s GenLook-alternatives post (25 September 2026) still uses that number. The live GenLook listing on 7 October 2026 starts paid at $19.99/month.

The other common miss is category mix. Eyewear AR, jewelry AR, and beauty AR are not clothing photo try-on. A glasses widget will not render a print dress. A clothing widget will not seat a ring on a finger. If the query is “GenLook alternatives for Shopify virtual try-on,” start with apparel photo apps, then branch only if you actually sell glasses, jewelry, or makeup.

Third-party pages also keep describing Antla as a share-for-discount loop and listing Attentive and Postscript as Antla integrations. This page does not. Sharing and discounts exist as listing bullets. They are not the product.

Prices, ratings, and plan copy are from live URLs opened on 7 October 2026. Empty cells mean the source did not state it. Photta has no Shopify App Store listing we could open; those cells come from photta.app/business. Check the listing before you buy.

Ratings on that same day: Antla 5.0 from 61 reviews; GenLook 5.0 from 40; TryPoint 5.0 from 13; Corlen 0 reviews; TryOnCloud 0 reviews. Review volume is not quality. There is no Review or aggregateRating markup on Antla on this page.

Antla pricing also matches antla.io/pricing on 7 October 2026:

  • Every plan includes a 7-day free trial. There is no free plan.
  • Trend, $19.99/month: 100 try-ons, then $0.16. The pricing page lists Klaviyo. The App Store Trend feature list says “Full Sharing Customization” and does not name Klaviyo.
  • Runway, $49.99/month: 500 try-ons, then $0.12. App Store: “Klaviyo Integration Access.”
  • Unlimited Fashion, $199.99/month: 2,000 try-ons, then $0.09. App Store: “Unlimited Shares” and “Klaviyo Integration Access.”

GenLook’s next rungs on the listing: Growth $29/month (250, then $0.12); Pro $99/month (1,000 generations, then $0.10). TryOnCloud Growth is $49/month (300, then $0.15); Scale $145/month (1,000, then $0.12). Corlen’s listed Shopify plans sit at $19.99 / $49.99 / $199.99 for 100 / 500 / 2,000 try-ons, with no overage published.

Match the app to the job, not the star rating

Five-star listings are cheap in this category. The useful split is what you are actually buying.

You want to install at $0. GenLook (10/month) or TryPoint (20/month) or TryOnCloud (10 try-ons, listed as “Free Trail”). Antla’s path is a 7-day trial, then a paid plan. If you are still deciding whether try-on belongs on the catalog at all, a no-card free plan is the cheaper test.

You want pay-as-you-go. TryPoint publishes $0.01/month at $0.29 per try-on. None of the other Shopify listings in the table do.

You want email capture inside the widget. GenLook: “Lead capture: collect shopper emails during the try-on flow.” TryOnCloud: “Automatically captures shopper emails after try-on.” TryPoint: “Capture emails during Try-On.” Corlen: “Optional customer email capture, opt-in.” Antla’s public plans emphasize Klaviyo on the pricing page; they do not document an equivalent in-widget email prompt.

You need a stated storefront-language list today. GenLook’s listing commits to “14+ storefront languages.” Photta’s vendor page commits to 29. Antla’s App Store Languages field is English. antla.io says the app “works with every Shopify theme and language.” This page does not pick a widget language count for Antla.

You sell on more than Shopify. Photta’s vendor page lists Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace, and a script tag. GenLook’s privacy policy also names WooCommerce, PrestaShop, and Shopline for merchants, plus an API. Antla’s public product is a Shopify App Store app.

You want a published 72-hour deletion line on Shopify. Antla’s privacy policy: “Images are deleted and not accessible within 72 hours.” That is the only photo-retention sentence this page uses for Antla. It does not say photos are never stored or unused for training.

A preview still does not prove the garment will fit. Pair try-on with a size app. Antla has no size chart or size recommendation of its own. The split is in virtual try-on vs size recommendation.

What the product page is actually missing

Baymard’s 2026 product-page research (updated 18 March 2026) found that 52% of desktop sites still have a “mediocre or worse” product-page UX, and that 57% of sites hide size options in a drop-down instead of exposing buttons. Apparel shoppers are already fighting the page. A try-on widget does not fix a hidden size selector. Put both on the PDP.

Shopify’s 2026 conversion-rate guide (22 August 2026) cites Statista at 1.4% of global ecommerce visits converting in Q1 2026, and lists fashion, accessories, and apparel at 2.77% in its June industry table. Treat those as directional. They are store-wide session rates, not try-on-user rates.

The one Antla number this page will quote is the try-on-user cohort on Shopify virtual try-on conversion: across more than 500,000 completed try-ons, users who finish a preview convert at 3.8%. That is a cohort rate, not a store-wide CR, and it is not a promised lift from switching apps.

Returns are the other reason merchants shop alternatives. Shopify’s 2026 ecommerce returns guide cites NRF and Happy Returns: an estimated 19.3% of online sales were returned in 2025, against 15.8% for retail overall, with apparel and footwear above the online average because fit is hard to judge on a screen. That is industry context. This page does not invent an Antla return-rate delta.

When GenLook is still the right install

Stay on GenLook when the live listing matches what you actually need:

  • A free plan with 10 try-ons a month, and the vs page’s claim that it “needs no card.”
  • In-widget email capture on Starter and above.
  • A published “14+ storefront languages” line, plus a long App Store language list.
  • A $29 mid-tier (Growth, 250 try-ons) below Antla Runway at $49.99 for 500.
  • Funnel analytics the listing describes as “try-on funnel and try-on-attributed sales in one dashboard.”

That is a real shortlist, not a trick question. If those rows are your buying criteria, start with GenLook.

When Antla is the better alternative

Pick Antla when you want a Built for Shopify clothing try-on with a 7-day trial, paid plans from $19.99/month, and a published 72-hour image deletion line, and you will judge render quality on your own SKUs.

Listing differences versus GenLook on 7 October 2026:

  • Lower overage on the $19.99 plan. Trend is $0.16 per extra try-on; GenLook Starter is $0.17.
  • A higher-volume published Shopify tier. Unlimited Fashion includes 2,000 try-ons at $199.99/month, then $0.09. GenLook’s highest listed Shopify plan is Pro at $99/month for 1,000 generations, then $0.10.
  • Shorter published photo window. Antla: 72 hours. GenLook: up to 7 days (or 1 / 3 days “where configured”).
  • More App Store reviews, same star rating. 61 versus 40. That is volume, not quality.

Antla is not SOC 2 or ISO certified. It does not recommend a size. It is a Shopify App Store app for fashion apparel. Shoppers upload one photo on the product page. No shopper app download.

If you need glasses, jewelry, or makeup instead

Do not swap clothing photo try-on for category AR because a roundup mixed them in one table.

GenLook’s own 2026 apps roundup (updated 17 July 2026, opened 7 October 2026) splits FittingBox for eyewear AR, Camweara for jewelry AR, Kivisense for footwear AR, and Banuba for beauty AR. Those are different jobs. This page does not merge their prices; we did not open those vendors’ live listings today.

Photta’s vendor page claims clothing, jewelry, and cosmetics from one widget. That is Photta’s wording, not an App Store listing we could verify.

How to leave GenLook without recoding the theme

You do not rewrite Liquid. You swap app embeds on a duplicate.

  1. Duplicate the live theme so you can roll back.
  2. Install the alternative from the App Store (or Photta’s script, if you are actually leaving Shopify-only). GenLook’s free plan needs no card on its vs page. Antla: 7-day trial, then a plan.
  3. Add that app’s product-page control next to the gallery and add to cart. Turn GenLook’s embed off on the duplicate only.
  4. Run the same SKUs on the same shopper photos: a print dress, a structured top, a pair of trousers. Score color, pattern, drape, and length. Do not score “fit.”
  5. Check mobile, including sticky add-to-cart. See Shopify theme compatibility.
  6. Uninstall the leftover app after you pick, so its scripts stop loading.

Antla install order: how to add virtual try-on to Shopify. Small-catalog cost math lives on virtual try-on for growing fashion brands.

Does GenLook have a free plan?
